The USC Alumni Club of the Nation's Capital offers numerous opportunities for involvement at all levels. We generally host between two and three events each month that are open to all Trojan alumni and friends, ranging from networking receptions and a lunchtime speakers' series to wine tastings, sports viewing parties and philanthropic events.

We welcome the involvement of Trojans who are interested in helping to organize events, or in serving on the club's board of directors or on one of our steering committees (social, scholarship or fundraising).

Membership

USC Alumni Club of the Nation’s Capital Patron Program

All graduates of USC enjoy membership in the USC Alumni Association (USCAA), the organization that connects USC alumni and friends to the University and one another, lifelong and worldwide. Additionally, all USC alumni, parents and friends located in the Washington, DC greater metropolitan area, Virginia and Maryland are welcome to participate in activities conducted by the USC Alumni Club of the Nation’s Capital. Being a member of the club is free.

The DC club welcomes and supports diverse members and leaders bound by their experience and passion for USC. We provide social and professional networking opportunities, resources and a wide array of events; serve as a local connection to USC; and support current and potential USC students through scholarships and volunteering at USC Office of Admission activities. A sampling of our events includes football game watches; professional networking breakfasts; outings to annual DC events, wineries, sporting events, performances and exhibits; happy hours; and joint events with USCAA and campus partners on current news topics featuring USC faculty and administrators. Because of our programming, strong volunteer base and initiative to create a dynamic local Trojan Family, we were honored with the inaugural Alumni Organization of the Year Award by USCAA.

Although club membership is free, we greatly appreciate those who become Patrons, financially contributing to our many events and programs and enabling us to continue to broaden our offerings, expand our reach, and make a real and significant financial contribution to USC students. The DC club does not receive financial support from the University. Every year, we need to raise $14,000 to fund our SCend Off and scholarships for students from the area and those participating in the Semester in Washington program. With the help of contributions by local alumni and matching funds from USC, we’ve been able to allocate $38,400 in scholarships to 14 students in the past two years.
