A Message From Our President
Representing the more than 4,000 members of the Trojan Family living and working in the Washington, DC metropolitan area, the USC Alumni Club of the Nation's Capital is one of the largest and most active USC alumni associations outside of the Southern California region.
One of our primary goals is to help support current and aspiring USC students living in or visiting the Washington area. In addition to awarding thousands of dollars in financial support each year through our scholarship programs, we also assist with recruitment efforts, welcome new students each year at our annual SCend Off event, and actively support USC athletic teams visiting our region.
We also work to keep the Trojan Family spirit strong, with alumni events ranging from networking receptions on Capitol Hill and a lunchtime speakers series to wine tastings, football viewing parties and philanthropic events. This year, we are pleased to co-host the USC-University of Virginia Weekender and season opener.
In addition to planning the Weekender, in 2008 the USC Alumni Club of the Nation's Capital will be focusing on continued membership growth and increasing our level of financial support for our scholarship and SCend Off programs. We also plan to expand our role in recruitment of area students, and pledge to continue to offer a diverse selection of exciting activities for Trojans in the DC area to enjoy.
The USC Alumni Club of the Nation’s Capital offers opportunities for involvement at all levels. Dues-paying members help support our Alumni Club Scholarships, our flagship Congressional Intern Scholarship Program, and our annual SCend Off picnic. Members are also entitled to exclusive benefits, including discount pricing on all events and priority registration for programs that we anticipate will sell out quickly. Of course, we have countless opportunities for you to volunteer with us. We welcome the involvement of Trojans who are interested in organizing events, or in serving on the club board of directors or one of our steering committees. The USC Alumni Club of the Nation’s Capital also offers alumni the opportunity to donate directly to the scholarship program of their choice.
